Q. 24. The binding energy per nucleon for the parent nucleus is E1 and that for the daughter nuclei is E2. Then

Since, mass of daughter nuclei < Mass of parent nucleus

 energy is released B.E

per nucleon for products is greater than B.E. per nucleon for the parent nucleus
