Job Description
Responsibilities
Academic
To contribute in the teaching of overall developmental areas including but not restricted to Theory of Knowledge, CAS, Clubs and Activities.
Follow and contribute to the syllabi and schemes of work in accordance with the schools curriculum policies;
Plan lessons according to the system followed by the school and subject area and deliver the lessons so planned to the students;
Liaise, plan special work and interact with the Special Education teacher or Counsellor for the well-being of differently abled students.
Submit all schemes of work, lesson plans and any other material to the relevant Head of Department, Subject Coordinator or Principal according to the systems laid down by the school;
Regularly assess and mark students work following the guidelines of the schools assessment policy;
Manage his or her classroom with regard to developing an interesting, stimulating and appropriate working environment for the students and set and maintain standards of student behaviour that enhance the learning that takes place;
Mount and display students work and other appropriate material on the classroom and atrium display boards;
Set and mark examinations and other formal assessments in consultation with Head of Department, subject Coordinators or Section Principal as appropriate;
Maintain effective records of student attendance, work covered and of student progress regularly;
Provide detailed semester reports on all students in his/ her classes at the end of each semester;
Prepare and use resources to supplement text books and other formal materials including downloading relevant material from the internet and maintaining a record of useful website references;
Organize subject based guest speakers to the campus and off campus visits to relevant places of interest or events;
Liaise with other members of staff to establish cross curricular links and work practices;
Attend department meetings and participate in periodic curriculum and syllabus review;
Maintain familiarity with developments in his/her subject area and in pedagogy through research, reading and workshops.
Pastoral Care
Take on a pastoral role to promote the well-being of students.
Monitor students both inside and outside the classroom to ensure that they follow the school rules;
Be available for any student seeking your guidance or help;
Give additional academic support to students when necessary;
Liaise with parents both formally and informally.
General
Pursue the aims, philosophy and policies defined in the school handbooks;
Prepare assemblies and encourage standards of presentation;
Enforce school rules including participation in the school disciplinary system and doing your assigned break, mealtimes, prep and other duties with commitment;
Play an active part in the school House system, community service programme and all other activities of the school;
Cover as required for absent colleagues;
Undertake any task the Principal may reasonably identify in time of need.
Salary:INR 4,25,000 - 5,50,000 P.A. Pf/mediclaim Cover/performance Appraisal & Incentive/meals on Campus/ School Transport/ Children Fee Waiver/
