Job Description:

Packt is a fast growing international IT book publishing company based in Birmingham, UK and Mumbai, India. We are at the cutting edge of innovation in publishing with a unique strategy of publishing highly focused books on new and ground breaking technologies.

The Content Development Editor (CDE) role is for creative and intelligent individuals who have keen interest in technology and the creation of technical content to help others learn new technologies or develop new skills.

The CDE role is focused on working with authors to deliver quality Packt products based on title specifications provided by an Acquisition Editor (AE). An CDE needs to ensure that books are written according to their specification and that the content meets Packt standards. An CDE works with authors by giving them valuable feedback, checks Technical Reviewer comments, and works with other Packt staff to ensure that books meet their set deadlines and are of high quality.

Key tasks:
Provide guidance and instruction for authors.
Evaluate and accept received chapters.
Comply with existing quality reporting standards.
Monitor title through to the end of production process, acting as intermediary between production and
author if required.
Publish the agreed number of titles according to the planned timeline.
Manage relationships with authors, reviewers, and other contacts.
Work with PCs and production to ensure that books are published on time.
Compile weekly and monthly reports.
