With the examination season round the corner, the pre-exam counselling by CBSE will begin from tomorrow and continue till April 17.
Keeping in mind the geographical spread and heterogeneity of its students, the Boards methods of communication will include telephonic and online counselling, and question-answer columns in newspapers.
A network of 56 principals, trained counsellors from CBSE-affiliated government and private schools and a few psychologists will man the helpline.
The telephone service has around 66 experts, including principals, trained counsellors from CBSE-affiliated schools and a few psychologists. In India, there will be 56 counsellors, with the remaining 10 spread in Saudi Arabia, UAE., Nepal, Kuwait, Sultanate of Oman and Tokyo.
Examination-related psychological problems and other general queries will be entertained in this service. While general queries will be answered by the operators, students will be connected to principals or the counsellors in case of exam-related anxiety or stress. A toll-free number, 1800 11 8004, will be functional for this service and students from any part of the country can dial into it.
Arrangements have also been made to address the needs and anxieties of specially abled children.
The CBSE director (academic and CTET) and controller of examinations can also be contacted at [email protected] and [email protected].
Information, related to examinations and techniques to cope with examination-related anxiety, are also provided at the CBSE website www.cbse.nic.in under the special icon, Helpline.
CBSE has also arranged to provide counselling to specially abled children to take care of the needs and anxiety of special children.
