Ans. The frog got angry with the nightingale because her uninspired song was not fetching him enough money. Being greedy, the frog wanted the nightingale to sing passionately because he wanted to make a lot of money by charging admission fee from the creatures who came to hear her song. But as the ticket office collection crashed, he got angry with her.

Ans. Caesar got a little superstitious after hearing about Calpurnia’s dream and the unnatural happenings. He decides to pay heed to his wife’s warnings who, he knows, loves him deeply and cares for his wellbeing. Calpurnia’s consistent pleadings, prevailing upon him on her knees and her fears make Caesar a little reluctant to go to the senate house.

Why did the conspirators stab Caesar in the senate house?

Ans. The conspirators were jealous of Caesar and his growing popularity. They all had their grievances against Caesar who they felt was becoming very powerful. Also, Metellus Cimber was angry with Caesar for banishing his brother from the country. So, all the conspirators joined hands and stabbed Caesar in the senate house..

What did Calpurnia see in her dream? What was her fear?

Ans. In her dream, Calpurnia saw Caesar’s statue with a hundred spouts. Blood poured forth from these spouts and many lusty Romans bathed their hands in this blood with a smile. Calpurnia feared for Caesar’s life. She felt her dream was an ill-omen which signalled a danger to Caesar’s life.

Why didn’t Babuli visit his native village for a long time?

Ans. Babuli was studying in Bhubaneswar,where he had also got his job. These situations had bound him to the city and now for the past two years Babuli had not even once thought of home. He had got so engrossed in his present life and his personality had undergone such a change, as a result of which Babuli had not visited his native village for a long time.

Who was Ali? Why did he go to the post office every day?

Ans. Ali, now a coachman, had once been a clever hunter. He went to the post office every day in the hope that one day he would get a letter from his only child, Miriam, who had got married and left him five years ago, and of whom he had no news. So, the post office became his place of pilgrimage, which he visited every day religiously.
