EXPLOITATION OF CHILDREN Exploitation of children reveals the inhuman and irresponsible attitude our community has towards under-privileged children who are most of the times mercilessly abused both physically and mentally. They are forced to take up hazardous professions to support themselves and their families. They are made to work in glass factories, fire cracker industries, motor workshops, carpet industry or as domestic help. Most of these professions expose them to skin and lung diseases. Also, these children are ill-treated and even starved by society. Though various steps have been taken by our government and voluntary organisations to prevent this exploitation of children, but we need to take up this problem more seriously at an individual level. People who encourage child labour and employ children to work for them forcefully should be dealt with severely by the law. The need of the present time is for all of us to come together to fight against exploitation of children and only then will we be able to completely get rid of this social stigma.
