Incessant and continuous rains have resulted in the fl ooding of the Kosi river and consequently uprooting millions of people in Bihar. More than 150 people have lost their lives in the 25 worst affected villages. Property has been damaged and crops too have been adversely affected by the on going rains. The Central as well as the State Governments have taken up various relief measures for the displaced persons. Relief camps have been set-up, helicopters have been deployed for dropping food packets in the worst affected areas. Political leaders have made aerial surveys to assess the flood situation.
