The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is a national level entrance exam for admission to undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) law courses offered by 22 National Law Universities around the country. Candidates who qualify the CLAT exam and score above the cutoff can apply for admission to the courses mentioned below at 21 NLUs in India.
A law degree offers a five year law integration programme with a bachelor degree in any stream including, Arts, Humanities, Commerce, Science.
NLSIU offers a One-Year LL.M. Degree Programme. Similar to the BA LLB (Hons) programme, the LL.M. programme is organized around three trimesters every academic year. A total of 75 students are admitted to the LLM Programme for AY 2023-24.
The duration of the programme shall be for a period of five academic years. Each academic year is divided into three "Trimesters" with an average of not less than 70 working days for each. The academic terms will be announced in advance each year and will ordinarily be between July-September, October-January and March-June.
Admission to the B.A., LL.B. (Hons.) Degree Programme is purely on the basis of merit as assessed through a Common Law Admission Test conducted for the purpose. Classes usually begin on 1st July every year.
