Section A
Q.1. How is the refractive index of an optical medium related to the speed of light in that medium?
Ans. The ratio of speed of light in vacuum to the speed of light in a medium is called refractive index of that medium.
Refractive index
(of a medium)
|
Speed of light in vacuum |
Speed of light in medium |
Ans. Silver is the best conductor of electricity because it has the lowest resistivity out of the three.
Q. 2. Identify the type of reaction in the following example :
Na2SO4 (aq) + BaCl2 (aq) BaSO4 (s) + NaCl (aq)
Ans. Na2SO4 (aq) + BaCl2 (aq) → BaSO4 (s) + NaCl (aq) Double displacement reaction.
Q. 3. If a light ray IM is incident on the surface AB as shown, identify the correct emergent ray.
