He wants the West Wind to carry him like it carries the clouds, the waves and the leaves and he also wants the West Wind to be his mouth-piece and spread his thoughts to awaken the sleeping mankind. The nightingale was indeed a simple and foolish bird who could not see through the evil, malicious and selfish interests of the frog. At first she feels extremely flattered to meet the frog, who claims to be a great artist and critic, and discusses her art with her.
