Sir,
Through the columns of your esteemed newspaper, I would like to recount my unbelievable but true experience, with the alien creature, Cutie-Pie who was brought to Earth twenty years ago.
I was the one he had befriended after escaping from Earth’s prison. Though I was a baby, we communicated with each other on a mental level, where our minds began talking to one another. But it is most unfortunate that poor Cutie-Pie had to suffer incessantly on Earth at the hands of us humans. Since he had been captured on Quta-Pi planet, our scientists assumed he belonged to that planet and created a similar atmosphere for him in the glass cell on earth. This atmosphere was most unsuitable for him. He wept miserably during his captivity and then came the worst day when he lost all his hair and whiskers, after which he could not even communicate with his people back home. His whiskers were his medium to communicate. He got some respite only after his escape from his glass-cell. We, humans, were so callous and casual in our approach so as to create a life equivalent to hell on Earth for the poor alien.
Yours sincerely,
C.H. Winters

Imagine that you are the narrator. You have spent two years in the refugee camp. You want to return to Mozambique. Describe your reasons for doing so in a diary entry and also why your grandmother wants to remain in the camp.

Ans.

Even after spending two years in this refugee camp, I want to return to Mozambique, the place I still feel is home. I still nurture the hope to meet my parents and grandfather again. I am quite sure my mother is waiting for us back home and we will be united with her. I also feel I will be able to locate my grandfather. But my grandmother has been totally disillusioned by what happened two years ago. She has made this refugee camp a home for all of us and there is no going back for her. She has moved on much ahead in life and harbours no such illusions or hopes as the ones I have. She is a very practical lady and wants us also to be the same. I know she has been our pillar of strength and our support system. I love her dearly and always try to heed by what she says. But this is one thing on which we both have opposite views. I still want to return to Mozambique and she wants to remain in the camp. On this stance, I feel very sure, one will not be able to make the other agree about their viewpoint.
